The Blessed Maria Theresia Bonzel Society
This society was created to honor our Foundress, Blessed Maria Theresia Bonzel, who was drawn to the ideals of St. Francis of Assisi – a man who left a legacy of faith characterized by selfless giving and the spirit of love; he loved every person without measure or discrimination. The care and compassion of St. Francis was continued in this country when Blessed Maria Theresia sent six Sisters from Olpe, Germany to Lafayette, Indiana in 1875 to begin a ministry of healthcare and education for the poor and neglected.
The Bonzel Society recognizes those donors who have included Franciscan Health Foundation in their estate or financial plans. These generous individuals help Franciscan Health to thrive and successfully meet the growing needs of our community(s).
